Environmental Commitment

At Springs Window Fashions, we make a strong commitment to the impact we have on the environment, from the way our products are manufactured to the way they help reduce energy usage.

Products for Energy Efficiency

Our high-performance cellular shades, solar shades, and motorized solutions are a few of the products we make to help homes and businesses become more energy efficient.

Shades That Save

Did you know that a significant amount of hot and cold air can escape through windows, raising energy bills? Our high-performance cellular shades are engineered to trap air and reduce heat transfer—making homes and businesses more energy efficient throughout every season.

Sustainable Sourcing

Our natural shades are woven with sustainably-sourced bamboo, jute, reeds, and grasses. The hand-selected materials are woven together to create a one-of-a-kind shade that celebrates the unique beauty of these renewable materials.

The industry-best timber we use for our handcrafted shutters and blinds is sustainably sourced from the finest timber in North America. Plus, our Grayling, Michigan wood processing plant recycles sawdust and wood shavings to generate the heat required to dry lumber and warm the facility.

Performance Fabrics

Our performance fabrics for solar and roller shades are GREENGUARD Gold Certified. This certification ensures improved indoor air quality and reduced exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Select roller and solar fabrics are also OEKO-TEX certified, passing rigorous testing for thousands of harmful chemicals.

Recycled content fabrics

EcoEncore fabrics from Graber are made from 100% recycled PET, while Bali’s EcoLiving blinds and shades use plastic bottles recovered from the ocean and other 100% postconsumer recycled materials—helping reduce landfill waste.

Both Graber and Bali fabric collections, as well as Signature Series’ EcoStyle fabrics, meet the GREENGUARD Gold standard for low VOC emissions, ensuring improved air quality and enhanced protection for sensitive groups.

Ascend Program

SWFcontract and Mecho’s sustainability program, Ascend, outlines our ongoing commitment to advancing technology, minimizing our environmental footprint, and inspiring a sustainable future through continuous progress and leadership.

This program is guided by three core values: Innovate, Optimize, and Thrive—enabling us to drive product innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and empower a culture of growth and well-being.

San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Headquarters

Named one of the ten most sustainable buildings of 2013 by AIA, daylighting is a key part of SFPUC’s sustainability strategy. The 13-story glass tower requires up to 45% less energy to illuminate its interior than typical Class A office buildings. It welcomes daylight, but also manages it, using Mecho SolarTrac automation.
