SWF Teams Up with Habitat for Humanity
Posted September 20, 2023
Habitat for Humanity of Dane County offers a hand up, rather than a hand out. Through their volunteer network, generous donors and sales from two Habitat ReStores, they’re helping families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance to build a better life through shelter. In Dane County alone, one in eight people lives in poverty, including 16 percent of all Dane County children.
As a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity, Springs Window Fashions values the opportunity to help a local family build a house. We’ve repeatedly gathered over 80 employees in the parking lot to volunteer to frame a house. It’s always a great day for associates, Habitat for Humanity and of course, the client family. The day includes lunch for everyone, local dignitaries and an invitation to the media. It’s our way to help a local family achieve their dream of home ownership and work together as a team. The homes are located throughout the greater Madison area. Associates are encouraged to help complete the house once the frame is set on the foundation.
We look forward to continuing this tradition and partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
