Springs Helps MOM “Can” Hunger

Posted May 5, 2019

Springs associates rallied once again this year for the 9th annual CANstruction event at West Towne Mall. The assignment: to design and build an impressive structure of more than 3,000 cans of food fitting this year's theme of “AbraCANdabra.” Springs’ entry was “Let's Make Hunger Disappear.” The structure was given the Structural Ingenuity and Most Cans awards.

Following the competition, all of the canned food is donated to the Middleton Outreach Ministry’s Food Pantry, which feeds more than 4,000 people each month, including nearly 2,000 children. One of the largest foodbanks in Dane County, it is also considered one of the most progressive. Patrons can visit as often as needed, essentially eliminating hunger in the community.
